What power supply will work?

What kind of power supply will work for me?

  • I have a HP m8530f and I want to upgrade the power supply on it. I am not too educated on power supplies and all that. What I want to do is add an additional SATA HD and maybe a 9800 video card and a blu-ray drive and POSSIBLY upgrade the CPU but probably not. I just need room for expansion. I was looking at this PSU http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817709014 but I am not sure if it will work with my setup of not.

  • Answer:

First, you need to check with HP and find out if this is a standard ATX power supply. Companies like Dell, Hp and others use proprietary hardware.

nvidia 9800 has a big power I suggest u choose bigger than 550W powersupply, and make sure it's a has a pure power for me, Tagan brand is the best

650 looks like a good wattage to go with. but make sure you stick with a reliable name, antec, and thermaltake are two that I prefer. they can be a bit more expensive than the budget ones, but they won't leave you hanging.
