My disk defragmenter won't open. What can I open it?

Why can't I run the disk defragmenter?

  • When try to run it, it says: disk defragmenter could not start. I also tried the chkdsk, and then tried the defragmenter again and still nothing. Please help.

  • Answer:

The Windows defragger needs atleast 15% free space to work. Either some programs may be interrupting the defrag or you may need to run chkdsk. I suggest you try Diskeeper. Its the best among those I have tried and works even under less than 15% free space. Here is a free trial version http://www.diskeeper.com/defrag.aspx

Ever Thought, That it might not be installed correctly, It needs a patch, OR it just is a crappy disk defragmenter, You can also do disk defrag by going to my computer > rightclick your hardrive > Properties > Tools > Dis Defrag
