Why does my computer screen turn of when I play certain PC games?

I would like to play PC-DVD games on my computer but I have a CD-ROM drive,can I at least copy the installer?

    you can copy your game on your flash drive by using some other's pc ,which has a dvd dirve. then you can transfer it to your computer with flash drive you need some dvd copy progarm to help your do it efficient. share you one a dvd copy tool. http://www.dvdcopymac.org/

While a CD and DVD have the same circumference, that is about the only thing common between them. The information on a DVD is stored very different from the way it is stored on a CD. The layout is different and the information is written in much thinner rings closer to each other. The hardware in a CD drive is not able to read the finer, more tightly packed information on a DVD. To the CD drive it will appear to be empty. However the DVD, because it has a tighter laser, can not only read a DVD but it backwards compatible and able to read CDs. So your CD drive is not able to read DVD. (Just as neither a CD or DVD drive is able to read the new BluRay disk, even though they are also the same size.)

No, the copy protection will prevent this from working. You'll need to break down and pony up the $20 for a DVD drive.
