What's the difference between DVD-R and DVD+R disks?

My dvdrw drive (lite on dvdrw) can read disks(cd,dvd and cdroms) but not burn disks. whats wrong :(?

  • this drive will act like its burning and then when it says complete it will still be a blank disk in the drive. sometimes it will give an error. but in itunes it will act like its burning. even the light on the drive blinks. whats wrong?

    The DVD burner s/w might be burning in simulation mode.. meaning it asks u to insert the DVD and simulates that it is burning at a specified speed but will not actually burn the CD.. CHoose the appropriate recoder from the settings. By the way, what burner s/w are you using? Nero?
