Does anyone know How to Restore Vista Registry to original like NEW...without reinstalling the OS?

  • I keep getting freezes , many programs stop responding , and nothing seems clickable , ctrl +alt + delete doesnt work I already tried system restore i already checked for viruses and spyware etc Is there a way to restore the registry to original vista ?without reinstalling the OS ? I already tried a few registry cleaners like cc cleaner , reg cure , tune up utilities none of them fix the problmes I just installed new ram but thats not the problem because i already did a ram memory test on them

No, there is no setting to set the registry back to "like new" because every computer's registry is different. You have to reinstall Windows.

I doubt there is such a way (I also doubt the efficacy of registry cleaners in the first place). The Registry is such a huge, complex file, with virtually every program on the machine having entries on it, not to mention interactions between entries, that it's impossible to successfully reset it. One of the reasons an OS install successfully resets it, is that it does obliterate all traces of other programs. This does nothing good for those programs. Sorry, and good luck with your problems.
