Where can I find the shortcut keys of all the applications?

My keyboard has a mind of its own. It goes into some shortcut mode automatically, how do I stop it?

  • I have a brand new Dell Studio 1537 laptop and sometimes I'll be net surfing or editing pictures and it will automatically start pulling up a new window searching the computer. But, only for certain keys, for instance the F key and the T and the K or something like that. But, I didn't instruct the computer to do so, neither am I ever in the same place when it happens... Also, I am NOT using any control, shift or function keys with it. I went into "control panel" and chose "keyboard" only to find that everything looked normal. How do I figure out what 'shortcut' i accidentally activated, and HOW in the world, do I de-activate it without re-starting my computer??

  • Answer:

Go back into Control Panel and check the Accessibility options. You might have "Sticky Keys" turned on.

Press the Shift key 5 times and go to settings make sure all boxes are unchecked. If that isn't it then uninstall the keyboard in Device Manager and reboot - windows will reinstall it Windows Key + Pause/Break Key Hardware Device Manager

Only a possibility, but when I am typing on my laptop, if I have not disabled my mousepad, it is possible to move and tap the mousepad with your arm accidentally, which can cause the cursor to jump around, pull up different windows, etc. Fortunately for me, there is a button adjacent the pad which disables it, if the above applies to you, I hope you have a similar button as most don't! In which case, get a USB mouse and disable the pad?
