Missing multimedia audio controller.

I'm missing my Multimedia Audio Controller?

  • I accidentally deleted it while i was deleting things, and now my sound won't work. I have an Emachines T6412 with Windows XP I need help! please and thanks.

  • Answer:

try this to restore sound to your computer. 1>click on start 2> click on run and type in devmgmt.msc then click ok 3> on the page that has just opened up look down the list for a speaker icon which should have sound, video and game controllers written after it when located click on the plus to expand the menu 4> there should be 1 item in that list that has the words "AudioPCI" contained in it eg. Creative AudioPCI (ES1371,ES1373) (WDM) right click on that and select update driver..... 5> in the pop up window click the circle next to "Yes, this time only" and then on the next button 6> make sure that the circle next to "install the software automatically (Recommended) is checked and click next 7> your computer will now search for, download and install the latest drivers for your sound card when that has finished restart the computer and your sound should be returned.
