  • yesterday i just format my laptop(IBM ThinkPad T42) and installed windows xp pro. after that i've installed the multimedia audio controller, and then after i installed the driver my laptop still has no sound at all!i have checked in the hardware in the sound and audio devices. i click on the Multimedia Audio Controller it said "Device Status: the drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28)" after i reinstalled it, my laptop turned blue and restart!! what should i do?please guys help me!

  • Answer:

Did you use the driver CD that comes with your computer or did you let XP install the drivers it thought were correct? XP has a problem recognising MAC's correctly and will often install the wrong driver. If you don't have the driver CD, you can download all the required drivers from here; http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/MIGR-55386.html#audio
