How to dual screen with dell dimension 4700?

How do I get the blue bios screen to appear on my Dell Dimension 4600?

  • Hi there. I am having some trouble with getting the blue bios screen which is the Phoenix bios blue screen. I currently have version A12 which I believe is the latest version. But when I turn my computer right on, the Dell Logo comes up and it gives me two options there. There is F2 which is the Setup, and F12 which is the boot menu screen. But when I hit the F2 key, it does not go into the right setup screen. It is totally different. What I am saying here is that this is not the blue bios screen, which mostly everyone out there has on their computers. But why do I not have it for? I tried to download an older version of my bios to A6, but it still did not work for me! Oh well! So please help me out here on this situation that I am stuck in, I would really appreciate that very much from you. I mean I really don't know what to tell myself. Do you possibly know what I am doing wrong here? Because if there is a way to really get this blue bios setup screen, then I will be happy. I know that mostly every computer out there has this blue bios screen, but I cannot seem to get it on my computer. I also have Windows XP Home Edition. That is just to let you know what I have. All righty then? So please get back to me soon and explain to me on how to really get this blue bios screen the easy way. So thank you very much!

  • Answer:

Many BIOS screens are different, mine is gray has a purple menu bar and looks nothing like the blue BIOS screens on some computers. Honestly it should be F2 so try continuously hitting F2 until the computer starts windows or the BIOS starts up. If you are sure it's not the BIOS screen then try hitting the "Delete" key. Hope this helps.

If it says F2 for setup, hitting it repeatedly should bring it up. Try hitting the Delete key repeatedly. With some computers the Tab key will bring up the BIOS menu. Did you update the BIOS? If so, did you perform the flash correctly? You could try to reset the BIOS first. Open up the computer and remove the round battery from the motherboard for roughly 15 seconds, then replace the battery. This will reset the BIOS.
