Problem with running MSN?

My computer is running really slow and keeps freezing?

  • I ran tons of virus scans and i always finds something but then repairs it. It says it finds stuff like 'Adware advertising' And stuff like that. I think a problem is that i downloaded a lot of programs onto my computer. I have yahoo messenger,Msn,Aim,iTunes,IMVU,I used to have limewire but i deleted it,Skype,Open Office (runs a lot slower them microsoft word,no wonder it was free!),Windows movie maker,And i have FireFox but use internet explorer. And i think thats all the programs i have..I think it might be running out of memory and thats why its running slow? I use this AntiVirus software to scan my computer. And it pops up constantly saying it detected an infection. But then i fix it and it doesnt make a difference. Any suggestions on what to do?

If your virus/spyware free, there are a couple things you can do get your computer working faster. If you using your computer for normal stuff and not gaming. You don't always need more RAM you just need to perform a few maintenance task. First, if you haven't cleaned your registry in a while. This is necessary. Your registry holds all the information regarding updates, installs, un-installs etc. Each one of those events produces a key. That key needs your PC's resources and free space. So, if you clean your registry, you make more resources available for speed. Do a registry scan if you got more than 20 errors you should clean it. http://www.delete-computer-history.com/what-is-the-best-registry-cleaner.html 2. Clear your Windows cache files, this is your temporary file. It can grow up to a large volume and stop your computer from using RAM properly. In a sense slow it down by preventing it from using free space. Here is how: 1. Quit Internet Explorer, Firefox, or any other web browser 2. Click Start, click "Control Panel", and then double-click "Internet Options". 3. On the General tab, click "Delete Files" under Temporary Internet Files. 4. In the Delete Files dialog box, click to select the "Delete all offline content" check box , and then click OK. 5. Click OK. 3. Manage your startups. Your excess CPU usage is due to too many programs running in the background. You can cut these to barebones by alter your msconfig. Here is how: 1. Open your Start menu. 2. Click Run 3. In the command screen type "msconfig.exe" 4. In the "system configuration utility",click either "service" or "startup" tab 5. Uncheck all programs that your are no longer using. 6. Click "OK"

1. Get a registry cleaner. Might I suggest CCleaner, or Advance system care free. These are the best ones I've came across to. 2. Make sure you have a good antispyware software. Might I suggest Malwarebytes anti malware or Super anti spyware.(I would choose the first option over the second). 3. Have a good antivirus program like Avast, Avira, and a good software firewall: (I would suggest Comodo Firewall). And when scanning your pc with an anti virus, it is best to scan in safe mode(including antispyware software as well.) 4. You may have too many programs running at start up. So to fix this problem, just go to start> now when you find run, type: msconfig and disable the start up programs that are not important. 5. This is the option you should use if, none of the steps above worked. Just reformat your computer, and it will run good as new just like you first bought it.(note to self: you should save all of your important files, because formatting your computer erases all of your information.) How to reformat your computer: (you must have CD): when the pc boots up look for the statement "Press Del to enter Setup". It could be F2 or another key also. This will take you into the bios, here you need to change the boot order to cdrom first, pop the disk in and then save the changes by pressing F10. The screen will then say "Press any key to boot from cd". When it asks again on subsequent reboots press nothing and just let it install. For further assistance, please visit pchelpforum.com

I had the same problem few months ago. First of all remove all the big files from your desktop. If your hard disk is full get some external usb hard disk and move all your movies and pictures there. Then update you antivirus and antispyware and run a full scan. After that a defragmentation is a good idea. If the problems still persist then you should use a decent registry cleaner. If you are not sure which one to use maybe you could do what I did. I visited http://thebestofregistrycleaners.com and they helped me.
