Why does my LG monitor not turn on?

CRT monitor and graphics card problem - URGENT, PLEASE HELP!?

  • Ok, I've had this problem for a while now and since my parents got the same problem as well, I thought I should be the one to fix it. It will be pretty hard to explain, but here we go. I hope someone has a solution for it. In our household, we have 2 desktop computers. I've had one for some time now and my parents got one today. We've got 2 monitors as well: - LG Flatron ez T710BH CRT monitor - Belinea CRT monitor (serial code isn't of much importance here) Both monitors work perfectly well (I've tried both on my computer). Now here comes the problem: When I tried to use Belinea monitor on my computer with latest graphic drivers for GeForce 7600GT SE, the monitor would turn off and the LED light would keep on blinking orange (orange blinking of the LED signifies "inactivity of monitor" or "standby mode") due to it's low refresh rate. When using LG Flatron on it, it would work perfectly well because Flatron automatically adjusts to the refresh rate that can be used. I'm using Flatron monitor on my computer right now with Windows 7 Ultimate OS. Now, since we don't really have the money to buy a new monitor (and why should we when the ones we have are perfectly functional?), I wanted to use Belinea CRT monitor on their new computer. Their new computer has GeForce 7050 PV / NVIDIA nForce® 630a card on the motherboard and when I try attaching Belinea monitor to it along with the latest graphic drivers, the monitor goes back in standby/inactivity mode, just like it does back on mine. When I tried Belinea monitor on the computer with ATI Radeon graphic card, it would work perfectly well, regardless of the refresh rate. So from this I conclude that the GeForce drivers have fixed refresh rate set each time the computer loads the OS which makes the monitor go on standby. How do I fix this? Is there any way to lock the refresh rate? I've tried going into "Safe Mode" and checking the "hide refresh modes that your computer can't display", but it's grayed out. PLEASE HELP! I know quite a lot about computers so hit me as hard as you can, but let's solve this :(

  • Answer:

Try lowering resolution before connecting Belinea monitor.
