Should I connect my speakers through my monitor or my PC?

Is it better to connect speakers to the monitor or to the PC itself?

  • Just wondering which is better for the system and the sound? We have the option of plugging the speakers into the monitor and/or the hard drive. TIA

    It'll sound better if you hook it up to the PC. The jack on the monitor has already been transmitted once, and to plug the speakers into it causes it to transmit again, which gives you a weak signal. By plugging in into the hard drive you'll get a crisper cleaner sound, though the difference is probably not that much.
