Why wont my dvd+r work on my computer?

Why wont my computer work with my friends hardware!??!?!?!?

  • So when ever I take my newly built computer to my friends house, we run into problems left and right! When my computer is hooked to his Vizio T.V. using HDMI I can't get sound! (and his T.V. is a really brand new brand! Its a Vizio internet apps LED T.V.! so ya its pretty brand new... however... when I plug my computer into my LCD T.V. using HDMI (and I think mine is actually older because how fat it is lol) my sound works fine! we've checked all the settings in the computer and T.V. and nothing! than when we try to play LAN using his network we can't! and again his is pretty new stuff and we can't! but when we do it with my network it works fine! so why is this happening?!?!?!?!!??!?! We've even turned off firewall, checked router settings, EVERYTHING! any suggestions are welcomed!

    Not evrything is universal form computer to computer the only and most common things are keyboards, mouse, speaks , ect but not T.V's.

I think there are different versions of HDMI cables. Either the pin layout of number of pins is different. Check that out.
