Can please someone tell me how can I repair my computer?

My computer cant tell it has a CD drive! Can someone please help?

  • The Disk Drive (D:) isnt even there under my computer I havent done anything other install my drivers for my computer to work. I am using Windows XP. Could someone please help me?!?

  • Answer:

Open disk manager, and see if it is detected. if all else fails, you may need to do this. Open the Device Manager, and look for the designation, "CD-ROM", click on the plus sign, next to it, it will then open a menu. Click on the device, and chose proprieties. You can then remove the driver, you then reboot, and windows will install the proper drivers from the firmware. One more thing to check, is to be sure the cables to the drive are still tight.

A CD or DVD drive cannot be found or is not connected Run this Troubleshooter from Microsoft http://support.microsoft.com/gp/cd_dvd_drive_problems

If you can't find the right driver to fix the problem easily, you can try this site: http://www.drivers-updates.net/ There is a program I use which will find drivers for just about all hardware devices. The best part is it takes a snapshot of your system specifications and matches the right driver to go with it. Good luck.
