What are the best PC monitor brands?

PC won't boot when I mix ram of different brands.?

  • Ok guys, so I thought mixing ram of different brands was fine but when I try to add 2gb to my system, my pc won't boot. The power will turn on and the fan will start working but nothing comes up on my monitor. These are what I am using http://www.newegg.com/product/product.aspx?Item=N82E16820227210 and these are what I'm trying to add http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231032 As you can see, they have same speed, cas latency and timings. Also they work fine when paired together in same brands. But when I mix 1gb stick of ocz with a 1gb stick of gstick, my pc won't boot up. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

  • Answer:

what motherboard? or computer model? generally pairs should be the same. Depending upon the motherboard, you may need a bios update to run 4 gigs.

i would say to go play in the BIOS. if theres nothing there that lets you manually set the ram type, just return on of the pairs.ive had this problem several times with generic stuff, and only ionce did i find a bios setting that made it work. but even when it did work, it ran slower with 2gb of mixed brands then it did with 1gb of same brands. lesson here: go brand name. good luck.
