How can I repair my CD's with Scratch-Out?

How can i combine multiple cds into one (bootable) cd, or usb?

  • I have this posted in another catagory essentially, with little help as of yet, so i thought id try another. I need to combine my windows xp pro cd's (I believe 3 or 4, of all varied service packs) into one. Here is my situation, when i go and repair someones computer. I normally will have to carry along a heavy binder of varied install cds and resources. I've had a sudden jump in requests and repairs with xp and as we know, there are 3 service packs for xp, all of which i have a valid installation cd for. Problem here is, i have to bring with me un-necessary cd's, because i often dont know the service pack that the customer has a serial for. Some only have sp1 keys, others have 2 or 3. Sp3 keys are backwards compatible with sp2,sp1 and so forth. While sp2 keys are compatible with sp1 but not sp3. So, wouldn't it be easier if i had one (bootable) cd or usb containing all of the service packs, that had a clean boot menu that allowed me to select what service pack im installing. If there are any tutorials, or if you know how, please let me know. It is very important that i do this so i can keep my rates going with my installs and repairs. Thanks in advance.

  • Answer:

Easy... Here's the first part to make the usb bootable... its easy... 1.) Get a large usb mem. stick 8gb+ or just a portable hard drive.... 2.) Open CommandPrompt (as an admin) 3.) type: "diskpart" and hit enter 3.) type "list disk" and find the most relevant one (look at the size, and never choose disk0) 4.) choose the disk (ever drive is labeled as 'disk' even usb's) by entering "select disk X" (replace X with the number) and hit enter) 5.) type "clean" hit enter 6.) type: "create partition primary" hit enter 7.) type: "select partition 1" hit enter 8.) type "active" hit enter 9.) type " format fs=ntfs" hit enter 10.) type "assign" hit enter And I think that you can now use the easy gui (right click "my computer" and goto "manage" and goto "disk management") and than just right click the usb and create more partitions and unpack the cd iso to each separate partition... you may have to go back to each partition under the CMD and enter the "active" command...
