What hardware do I need to run virtual machines with optimum speed?
-
Right now I have a PC with an Intel core 2 6700 CPU, 4 GB RAM under windows XP and when I am running virtual machines(MS Virtual PC) it gets a bit slow. Sometimes I use several virtual machines, so I really need to upgrade my PC. Can anyone tell me what I need to look at when I want to buy hardware for better functioning of the VM? Thanks

Answer:
your CPU seems to be OLD that is probably the problem since it is slower than 2.0GHz is the Hardware Virtualization/VT-x on? you can see it in the bios options it allows you to use the virtual machine better but you well have a loss in Reading Speed but slightly and some bios doesn't allow you to do it
