What's the song on the MacBook Air commercial?

Whats the difference between a MacBook Air 1.6GHz and MacBook Air 1.86GHz?

  • MacBook Air 1.6GHz is 1,799 dollars and MacBook Air 1.86GHz is 2,499 dollars, How come theres such a big price difference?

  • Answer:

Mostly its down to the hard drive. the cheaper model has the normal hard drive with a spinning disk. The more expensive version has a solid state drive kind of like a memory stick in your camera or phone. this has no moving parts so is less likely to be damaged. These are still very expensive hence the difference in price. Unless money is no problem I would stick with the usual hard drive. Its not really worth the extra cash for the solid state drive at the moment.

The $2499 model offers a slightly faster processor and a 128 GB solid-state hard drive, which has no moving parts and is faster than a normal SATA hard drive. The $1799 model comes with a 120 GB SATA hard drive. I don't see any reason for the big price difference.
