How to fix screen on my computer?

How do I fix my computer? It keeps restarting at the windows loading screen...?

• So, I tried to install that Jabra USB Bluetooth thing, and while it was installing, it told me to restart my computer. So I restarted it, and when the computer turned back on, it would switch between the Compaq and the Windows XP loading screen. I tried putting it in safe mode, and all those other options, but it still goes on the windows xp loading screen, which goes back the the Compaq screen... Also, I rarely turn off my computer, so Im thinking its a hardware issue.. but im not sure.. I have a Compaq Presario SR16550NX... Its pretty old, like about 5 years old... (I could get another computer, but I'm trying to get my parents to get me a laptop for college, and I really doubt they're going to get me both...) Other Problems: ~I lost my Windows XP boot disk, and I dont know how to get another one ~Im using LastXP now And, If there is no hope for my computer, is there a way to get the memory out of it? Please give me the steps... I really have no idea what Im doing.... Thanks!

  are you pressing the right f button on start up for safe mode? its either f10 or f8 but could be f2 depoending on your config,
