Can I plug a PCIexpress Sound Card to only a PCI slot?

• hello guys! can I plug a PCIexpress Sound Card to only a PCI slot? I want to upgrade to a new sound card which is the x-fitality titanium which is from creative and I have Asus rampage extreme x48 motherboard which only have 1 PCIexpress slot. I already used the PCIexpress slot in a network card which is the bigfoot networks killer 2100.. So my current sound card right now is an Audigy 2.. I use fruity loops and play games too hard like pro lol.. I'm also a musician. I play guitar and plug it in to PC.. However, in my current sound card I notice some underruns in fruity loops(music production software).. I am using windows 7 64-bit ultimate edition.. I'm guessing that the drivers of the card is old.. I keep waiting for the new driver but it never came because of creative's poor support especially on old sound card.. btw, my current sound card is Creative Sound blaster Audigy 2 Platinum ex.. thank you so much

  You cannot place a PCI express Sound Card into a PCI slot. However I looked up your current motherboard and it does seem to have 2 PCI express x16 slots and 3 PCI express X1 slots. I also looked up the sound card you want to buy and it seems to be a PCI express X1 so you should have no problem using it with that motherboard. Hoped this helps, have a good one. :]
