Upgrading RAM question?

Hey, Im on a gaming laptop (alienware m15x) and currently have 4 GB RAM DDR3 The laptop has 2 slots for RAM, so im guessing I have two 2 GB sticks Im thinking about upgrading to 8 GB RAM, so two 4 GB sticks Would the upgrade be worth it? Is 4 GB of RAM a noticeable increase in performance thats worth it? And can someone link some good laptop model for a good price ($30 or less) of 4 gb RAM thats from a good company that you know works?

I'd say it depends on your operating system. If you're running a 32-bit version of Windows, it won't be able to use over 4GB of RAM anyway so you'd be wasting your money going to 8GB. If you have a 64-bit OS then you're good to go. As for purchasing RAM, check out www.crucial.com as they have a memory selector that makes it easy to find the type you need for your computer and they're usually pretty cheap.

If you go on www.crucial.com, you can scan your computer and see what options they have for you. These guys make RAM cards, and are very nicely priced. I just bought 2 1gb sticks for roughly $30. Shipping was quick. Nice company overall.
