Why does my computer monitor turn on and off?

Why suddenly this morning when I turn on my computer, my monitor say No Signal?

  • It's just all fine until this morning. When I turn my computer on, the monitor say no signal, just like as there is no connection between them. Then I change the VGA cable with a new one. I Succeed for a while, but not until the desktop, it go no signal again. Notice: The connection is = My monitor - VGA cable - DVI VGA converter - PC (DVI port) I test the monitor and the VGA cable with my laptop and it's OK. So, is it the VGA Card or there is any possibility that the converter having the problem? Thx all, happy new year 2010!

    these people arnt listening to you, do you have a seperate video card? if so try it on the motherboards VGA port, if you are using your motherboards VGA port try to get a generic vid card and see if its the ports, worst case scenerio you need a new MB/VC

The only sure-fire way to diagnose the problem is to eliminate sources one by one. You already figured out it isn't the cable or monitor so it's either the connector or the card. You should procure another video card and see if that works in your comp. chances are its your vid. card

Check if all your cables are plugged in good. If yes then one of the cables are starting to be defective. Otherwise contact a techie.

Probably you VGA is on its last bit of life and needs to be replace. Or you ramm is out of whacked
