Missing Multimedia Audio Controller.?
-
I currently running Win 7 64bit and have recently reformatted my computer due to a virus i couldn't get rid of. Now that i have completely reinstalled everything , i have computer working fine, except my sound is not working. I have a custom built computer with about 2 years of running time so far and my sound is suppose to be running off a external sound card model: SC3000 / mbs - 000138 Rev; 1.2. I have tried everything i can think of. Inserting it in a different slot. Making sure it was in correctly. Search for solutions for 4 hours. Ran a scan for updates on multimedia drivers through dive manager. Downloaded many different applications which failed to detect the sound card. Finding the mfs site for the sound card. I have also updated everything on my entire computer and have downloaded the latest version of Realtek. and many other things. I cant really remember if it came with a cd or not . I haven't found box it came in or any software online leading to a solution. Would be nice if someone could figure something out to help me. Thanks

Answer:
http://www.devicedoctor.com/device-doctor-download.php its freeware, just download and run the scan, i also ran into this problem but do to windows xp slowing down. You might also notice your screen might be glitchy if so i might need the video controller as well, but device doctor will tell you what you need and give you a free download as well, good luck:)

hi. i wold tell u to follow these steps so as to drag back your PC to the normal condition: * Right click on the my computer and click the manage option *select the "device manager" in the left side and you would see a list of multimedia components. *In which you just expand the category named "sound video and game controller" and uninstall all the components as much as available(some of the components wont show uninstall option on giving right click leave those things) * Now come to the Device manager in the top and right click and give "scan for hardware changes" * thats all now close every thing and just restart you PC and try... **** GOOD LUCK ****
That model no sounds like c-media check this site and create a system restore point http://drivers.softpedia.com/get/sound-card/other-soundcard/edio-sc3000-sc3000l-pci-sound-card-driver.shtml
Drivers should be updated to correspond to the newest system if you reinstall or reformat the computer. Sometime the computer can upgrade the drivers automatically at the process, but other drivers, such as the audio driver should be updated by yourself for the difference of the models. you could try several software to update the sound driver, they can detect which driver updates are relevant to your computer, and then help you install it quickly, easily and automatically. here are the solutions to your conditions. http://www.audio-driver.net/no-sound-after-windows-install.html
