Why won't bitlocker encrypt my system drive (windows) but it will encrypt all other drives on my computer?

i am running windows 7 64 bit ult. when i try to have bitlocker encrypt my main drive it says it can't find a T P M module. but yet it will encrypt all my other 3 drives . i have even tried installing windows on to one of those and trying it then but with the same result please help,

Answer:
probably because if you encrypt that drive all the files that the computer needs to access will be unreadable and would cause your computer to crash upon the next reboot.
