Why is my PC's CPU always running at 100?

My cpu usage is always at 100 ?

  • my cpu was running very smoothly but from past 3 weeks my pc has slowed down very and the cpu usage is always at 100. what's the problem? and how to fix it ? my system specs: processor :intel core 2 duo E2180 @ 2.00 GHz ram: 1gb hynix ddr2 & 2gb kingston ddr2 graphics card : sapphire radeon HD 5670 1gb GDDR5 psu :tech-com 450w smps mobo: gigabyte G41M-combo

    Most likely cause is a virus. They hide themselves from Task Manager, so the process you see there, at 100% may not in fact be the one that is causing the problem (if it is a virus). Also, some large Windows updates will bog down a system for 10-15 minutes - make sure it is not an update of some sort.

Hit ctrl, alt, and delete to bring up a menu, then go to task manager. once there go to the processes tab. Click CPU to have the usage appear in descending order and you will find out what is sucking up all your CPU usage.
