Why does my computer freeze when I go on webcam?

My browser (Firefox) CONSTANTLY freezes whenever I turn on my webcam on sites such as Stickam, Tinychat etc. The only time it does not happen is if I use it on Windows Live Messenger (MSN) I looked on here and it said that reinstalling the software might make it less laggy, but I want your personal opinion. This has been happening since last month I am using the latest version of Firefox although I have tried using Internet Explorer and it hasn't resolved it. My webcam is a Logitech Webcam C500 Someone please help me thank you.

I would say its a resource issue, i.e when you use firefox which is pretty memory hungry, plus the webcam the laptop struggles to keep up and will freeze. Try increasing the performance of your machine under power plan. Or use a broswer like chrome, this helps me with issues like this, also the less tabs you have open should help.
