How to remove some extra drives from my computer?

Why are all of my flash drives breaking?!?

  • This has happened with about 2-3 of my flash drives so far. I plug them into a computer, copy the files, then unplug it. Then, when I try to plug the flash drive into another computer, it doesn't show up under Explore. But I KNOW the computer is recognizing that the flash drive is there because it pops up in the bottom right corner "New Hardware" or something like that. It just won't show up, so there is no way I can actually access those files. I haven't been doing anything differently from before, and those flash drives have always worked fine. I thought it might be because I didn't select "Safely Remove Hardware", but then again, I've never done that and I haven't had any problems before. I guess those flash drives have suddenly decided to act up, and I have no idea why. They work and show up under Explore when I am copying files to the flash drive, but right when I unplug it and try to access those files on another computer, they won't work. Some please help me! :( I'm sick of replacing one flash drive after another.

  • Answer:

There may be a problem with flash slot in the computer. I have one computer where I can plug a flash drive into one flash slot and it will not work. If I plug the same flash drive into another flash slot on the same computer it will work fine.
