Installing Windows 7 without a DVD?

Computer problem with my dvd rom and burner and installing windows 7?

  • What's going on is that both my dvd player and burner on my computer is not working but it's working. I'm trying to install window 7 at the moment but when i put my computer to boot from disc it doesn't show up nor it boots from disc it just goes to the desktop. But when i check my computer and check to see if it's reading the disc it is it shows the icon and everything. Also if i tried to just click on the set up from there it won't let me play it. Another thing is i tried installing it from the usb flash drive following these steps http://www.mytechguide.org/2009/09/12/how-to-install-windows-7-using-usb-flash-drive-faster/ and nothing it won't even show up. So i was wondering if there's any advice i could get, i called a friend of mines a while a go and he say's he thinks it might be my mother board but i really don't want to think about replacing anything as of yet.
