How to i get my built in speakers on my computer to work? ?

I have a sony vaio and the speakers have always worked fine. But today i was trying to turn on the sound and it say that there is no audio output device installed but that doesn't make sense becuase there are built in speakers that i no work. Is there a way a could have shut the speakers off? Please reply if you have an ideas on what the problem could be Thanx

You need to reinstall the driver. Try the following steps: Go to: control panel -> hardware and sound -> device manager Then go to: sound, video and game controllers and press the +button and you'll see Conexant High Definition Audio. Double click it: select the "Driver" tab and click "Update Driver". Select the top / 1st option. Wait and wah la.
