Video card isnt sending signal to monitor?
-
So i bought this Radeon HD 6570 card for bestbuy yesterday and it worked like a dream. The next day i try to turn on my computer, and there is no signal. The monitor will say "no signal input" I am on my old integrated graphics right now. So is this problem because the video card is defective or faulty? how can i find that out? Also, a little warning box pops up anytime i restart my computer and it states that i need to update my AMD drivers in the display manager. How am i supposed to update those drivers if i cant get a signal with the card? I thought i downloaded them all. Also a wierd occurance happened yesterday while i was playing a game. FPS dropped really low. 9fps. the screen kept flickering. this all in the time span of about 30 seconds. I tab out and all my windows open seemed to look as if the card had just been installed (resolution is huge, all the windows look older, not like windows 7 at all.) After the 30 seconds was up, strangely everything went back to normal. Specs, if it makes a difference. Intel Core 2 Quad CPU (4 cores) 2.5 ghz (not overclocked) 8gb ddr2 ram radeon 6570 hd graphics card windows 7 ultimate 64-bit thanks

Answer:
Hopefully you have a 500w+ power supply, The drivers do not reside on the video card, That would be a firmware update (do not update firmware). Re-seat the video card and make sure the socket is clean. You may have to remove the card from the system manager, reboot and it should detect it. The drivers (software) could be corrupt as well, they may need to be reinstalled. Edit: Minimum would be 400w but it depends on how many other cards/devices are installed not to mention, not all power supplies are created equal, some cheaper ones create so much "noise" in the voltage they can cause problems.. I would start with the connections first though, inspect and clean with compressed air. The drivers for any device load on every start up, if it booted good once, more than likely it is not a software issue.

Its probably a driver problem. I had the same thing happen to me when I was using AMD graphics. The driver somehow got corrupted and caused the screen to stop working. The display also reverted to a low resolution. I also noticed that some letters were not displaying properly.
CAPTAIN GENIUS !!
Sound like a bum card but you can try updating the drivers before returning it. Yu can do the driver update from the on board graphics card mist goto amd.com and run the install program.

It is possible the CD for the driver (or the download) had a bad sector or something went wrong during the installation. So try to uinstall and reinstall the drivers even if you already installed the latest version. First download the latest drivers so you have them ready and waiting. http://sites.amd.com/us/game/downloads/Pages/radeon_win7-64.aspx Turn the computer off and start it up again. Enter the bios (normally press f2 or f12 when booting) and disable the integrated video card. Then reboot windows into safe mode. Windows should boot with the new card. If it doesn't I'd consider the card dead. Return it to the store. It is common for new electronics to fail within the first month. If windows says it found new hardware, cancel any prompts. Once in windows, uninstall the existing drivers for good measure. To uninstall, open the 'device manager' in the control panel. Within the device manager, find the 'display manager' entry and open it. Find the Radeon card and double click it. Select the 'drivers' tab and click uninstall. When done, reboot the computer and enter into safe mode again. When entering into windows again, if it says it found a new device or tries to install drivers, cancel it. Once windows has booted, install the driver you downloaded. Since you are in safe mode, they won't take affect until you reboot. So when finished reboot the computer once more into normal windows. Everything should work. If it fails to boot, enter the bios again and reactivate the integrated video. Then I'd return the card to the store as defective. One possibility is that the card is partially defective. Electronics are sensitive to heat. When they heat up, they start to fail, then when they cool down everything appears normal. If you see a relation between heavy usage and strange problems, return it as defective.
