I transffered my computer components to a diffrent case, same components, but it won't work now, any tips?
-
So today, i bought a new PC casing, a CM 690. To test my knowledge of computers, i decided to forgo the free service of them doing the work for me. meaning i wanted to go DiY style. So now, i did transfer successfully all the components, and then i decided to test it out.. it everything turned on properly, fans were spinning and lights were blinking but nothing showed up on the monitor.. and i know i did something wrong, but i've tried everything; i made sure everything was getting power which it was, but nothing i did seemed to make an image appear on the screen... it really frustrates me because everything was working properly in the morning before i transferred the components to the new case... so its should be just fine.. any tips?

Answer:
you might want to check the power supply -- maybe the new power supply does not support the monitor. second, you might want to check the plug in the avr or wherever you plugged it. maybe its in a 110v of something. haha. hope this helps. Ü

Try putting it back into the old case and see if it works again and then you will know!
Those components, are static sensitive, did you ground yourself before starting.
turn it off and disconnect everything from the motherboard reconnect the power supply to the board the correct way round not the drives or dvd's etc check the monitor is connected the correct way round the plug should only fit one way but some monitors will go either way check the pins on the connectors, with just the monitor and power to the board you should get the bios setup screen listen for any beeps and consult the manual
