Modern Warfare 2 PC problem?

My PC is on but no signal on Monitor, And also freezes at BIOS on startup.?

  • My PC is my life. Just last night I went to turn my my PC (keeping in mind I usually keep it on, but in sleep mode, my friend turned it off...) and it froze on the BIOS Screen. I have never experienced a problem like this before on my PC. Recently I have had some friends stay over, and let them play Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 on my PC. I play this often so I doubt it's problem. I turned my PC off, and switched it off at the wall. I know it's not the monitor because I tested it by plugging it in to my laptop. Just this morning, I switched everything back on, and turned it on. It got passed the BIOS, but then the monitor said "No Signal Detected". I switched everything off, back on, and tried again, but got the first original problem. Motherboard: http://www.gigabyte.com.au/products/product-page.aspx?pid=2964#sp Monitor: http://www.benq.com.au/product/monitor/g2220hda I use 4gb Ram (2x 2gb), Graphics Card: Nvidia9500GT, (I use VGA cable), 1Tb HDD (Seagate). I am currently Unaware of the other stats, because i usually use my PC to look at them... I "THINK" its Quad Core 2.4gH, Graphics memory is 1gb or 2gb cant quite remember. Thankyou in advance :) Jack Pendrick

Ok i am not sure what the problem it but maby this will work. 1: plug all the cable's out, so there is nothing plugged in. 2: open the case and locate the small buttoncell battery, take it out for a few seconds. 3: put the battery back in 4: plug only your power cable in, nothing else. 5: start the computer up and leave it for about how long u think it takes to get started up. 6: now hold down your power button and the pc should suddenly switch off. 7: Plug every thing back in and hope it work's. Good luck

I would suggest you may have either a graphics card or RAM causing problems. "...and it froze on the BIOS Screen..." Are you sure it was BIOS setup and not just the POST screen? POST is the normal system check that PC does every time it boots. BIOS setup will only open automatically if there is a problem with it's settings that needs to be checked and resolved before the PC will boot, otherwise, under normal circumstances accessing BIOS is done manually. Turn off your PC at the mains, open the case and check that your graphics card is seated securely in it's slot and it's power connection is good. With the case still open, power on the PC and start it up so you can check that the graphics card fan/s are working (don't touch anything whilst it's running) If your PC still won't boot normally, turn it off again and check your RAM, test each stick individually in DIMM slot 1 (or 3). If you get a normal boot with one of the sticks and not the other then you have a dead RAM stick that is the problem. If neither RAM stick makes any difference, the PC still won't boot, then it is likely that the graphics card or the drivers for it is the problem. Try booting up in safemode with networking by restarting your PC whilst holding down the F8 key. if you succeed in starting up in safemode, uninstall your graphics card drivers, restart and install the most current drivers again from here- http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us or let Windows do it.

No on-board graphics with that motherboard :( Reset the BIOS. Although any time I've had that problem it was because of a bad Hard Drive/DVD. Try disconnecting them and see if the computer says "no operating system found"

I would try re-seating the video card, RAM, and reconnect the HD. If your still having that issue try bypassing the video card and see if the onboard makes any difference. If thats the case you might have a dying PCI-e slot

When you boot up hit (usually) F2 and go into CMOS setup. Check the diagnostics; and to see that all hardware is present in the diag. I bet you have a faulty Vide card but did you also check • to see your video cable is plugged in properly? • Video card is sitting properly? Can you put a different Video card in and see what happens? • BIOS upgrade is available? • Can you boot up from a boot disk and?
