My monitor doesn't show red?

Help monitor doesnt show anything?

i just built my first computer and the monitor doesnt show any thin it says no signal this is what im using http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811108210 - case http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16827135210 - dvd/cd burner http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822145304 - hard drive http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813138283 - motherboard http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820220480 - ram/memory http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103886 - cpu also the dvd burner wont open when connected to mobo any ideas?
Answer:

No Signal just means you haven't got it properly connected. Recheck your cables and also check that the monitor is set to the default source ( To the cable type you are using say DVI or HDMI
