Why do dollar signs appear on my desktop?

Old Republic CTD HELP!!!?

  • I bought the $150 dollar collectors edition of Star Wars: The Old Republic, and went out and bought a 2 thousand dollar PC so I could play it, but I've never so much as made it to the log in screen in months. At the very first loading screen it crash's. I return to my desktop, no pop ups or signs. Here are my specs. • Genuine Windows 7 Home Premium [64-bit] • 2nd Generation Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-3820 processor [3.6GHz, 15MB Shared Cache] • 16GB DDR3-1333MHz SDRAM [4 DIMMs] • 2TB 7200 rpm SATA hard drive • Microsoft(R) Office Starter: reduced-functionality Word & Excel w/ ads. No PowerPoint or Outlook • SAVE $20 on Norton Internet Security(TM) 2012 - 2 year • 1GB DDR5 Radeon HD 6850 [2 DVI, 2 mini-DP, HDMI. VGA adapter] • Liquid Cooling Solution • Blu-ray player & SuperMulti DVD burner • Premium Wireless-N LAN card • 15-in-1 memory card reader, 4 x USB 2.0 (front), 2 x USB 3.0 (top) • No TV Tuner • Beats Audio (tm) -- integrated studio quality sound • Premium HP keyboard and optical mouse ......................................… I also have the latest Java installed. I run the program as admin on my admin account. My copy did not come with a repair launcher program on the disk. SWTOR worked on my older PC. ......................................… What's weird is that it may be an update problem beucase when i first open the launcher it says its downloading a 28.4 or so update, but then soon the update vanish's and the play button pops up. Please help

  • Answer:

Your computer is more than sufficient to run SWTOR. Here are some things to know: Yes, the game has been "Live" for almost three months. We usually patch once a week, so there will be more than a few patches to download. Update all your drivers. Video Card, Sound Card, and main processor board... Update everything and make sure everything is current at least as far back as December 21st. If the game worked on your old PC, there may be a way to do a simple file transfer, but I'm not sure. I've heard rumor of it being done with other games, but personally I've never done it.
