Where is the drivers disk, for the motherboard/

Search for your audio drivers on the internet, download them and install them manually. Hope this helps you...

The same problem I suffered when I had no knowledge that the Motherboard installation CD contains the Driver for the built-in sound card. Insert the MB-CD and click-on Autoplay (if it is not opening by itself). Now see the Drivers and other files from the list and click on the Soundcard Driver link. Follow the instructions and check with the Test sound having your microphone and earpieces correctly plugged-in into the color-coded jacks at the back of your computer. The driver is installed and may or may not rebooting computer. Hope this helps.

you need to go to the pc makers website (hp) and look under support and downloads and download all the drivers for your model on xp and install them all, this will get everything running properly including the sound
