Why won't my computer screen turn on sometimes?

Why wont my computer turn on ~ blue screen?

  • I tried booting on my computer and a blue screen came up saying: A problem has been detected and your windows needs to shutdown. Then some like code Then it says if you see this screen once reboot, if you see it again follow these steps. And i did follow those steps and its still happening. Can you tell me how to get it to work?

  • Answer:

well that code you saw tells us what the problem is, perhaps you should try writing it down next time it occurs. also, it could be a ram fault, try removing every stick of ram then only placing one back in. see if it boots up either way, we need those numbers

My laptop did something similar to this when I had a virus. I had to take mine to a computer repair guy in order to have it restored back like new.

can you go to safe mode? Restart your computer and start pressing the F8 key on your keyboard. On a computer that is configured for booting to multiple operating systems, you can press the F8 key when the Boot Menu appears. Select an option when the Windows Advanced Options menu appears, and then press ENTER. When the Boot menu appears again, and the words "Safe Mode" appear in blue at the bottom, select the installation that you want to start, and then press ENTER. then download the software and repair blue screen . http://www.make-pc-faster.com/

Was the computer working fine with no changes before this? And did you recently upgrade your OS, or perhaps your memory? If you give me the error code it actually gives you, would help as well. Could be a memory error, processor overheating, or processor gone bad. But give us the code it gives you, and what version of windows please. EDIT- My suggestion to you then, would A) prepare to lose everything you have on the hard drive, and try to reinstall windows again, Unmountable device would lead me to suggest that either the HDD has had its share of better days, or that it is not being detected at all. when you first turn the computer on, it should bring up a POST screen telling you the basic system info, does it have a hard drive listed in there as primary device?
