The problem with Screen or PC?

Is there a way to fix my Asus eee pc netbook 1005HA white screen problem?

  • My asus eee pc 1005HA gets a blank white screen when my screen is move past the 90 degrees angle. I updated my BIOS but nothing happen. I still get white screen but only if I past the 90 degrees angle. I get a blank white screen but everything still works while it's on. It will always go white screen after the 90 degrees angle. Is there a way to fix this? I can still use my pc but the screen angle has to be below 90 degrees angle. It could be a physical problem.

Good question. It sounds like you have a bad ribbon cable that goes from the motherboard to the LCD screen. Or it may be loose. On this youtube video you'll see this guy removing the screen and the cable will be dangling in the air on the left http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3SSOtQhRb0o&feature=related It will be after 4:24 when you see it. It's a green color. I've taken a snapshot you can see the ribbon cable just above his right hand. Easy to see quick photo. http://www.netbooksmalllaptops.com/images/asus1005LCD.jpg These things get cracks on the bend points. You can wiggle the ribbon to see if the problem comes and goes. Finding the ribbon cable may be a problem because some companies want to sell you the whole screen assy'. Good luck, maybe someone is selling a ribbon on Ebay.

Did you drop it or something? I think you would have to take it to the place you brought it, or some place where they fix computers (:
