How to set up network printer?

  • OK, I am new at alot of this and I want to set up a network printer at work. There is one already set up by someone else previously, but I believe there is something wrong with the printer since it is more than a couple years old and employees are having difficulty printing. I want to set up another printer on the network so they can choose it to print from. How do I step by step add the printer to the network? I know I will have to assign it a IP address, but what are the steps? The printer now is set up on a domain and anyone that wants to connect to the printer types in domain name in run box and and it pulls up printers to choose from, then they double click on the printer and it loads the driver so they can choose the printer locally as their default in their printers and fax. How do I set up a network printer on the domain? The printer is a HP 1022n.

  • Answer:

If you can’t find the right drivers manually I would recommend just getting a software program that can do it for you. There is a program I use which will find drivers for just about all hardware devices. The best part is it takes a snapshot of your system specifications and matches the right driver to go with it. Perform a free driver scan at: http://www.drivers-updates.net/ Also, you can get the driver from their official sites: http://www.hp.com/
