How do I move the printed text to the top?

How come my text has a shadow when it is printed?

  • Often, when I print a document, with text, the text appears to have a shadow. Sometimes it it not noticable, but others, it becomes almost impossible to read the text. I am printing from an Epson NX300 I do not think its the printer though, because it has printed properly before, without any shadows. The ink in the printer is also not low, nor has it just been refilled. Any ideas/suggestions? Thank You!

  • Answer:

Under the maintenance tab in your printer's "Printing Preferences" run through all the nozzle/print head checks and cleaning and print head alignment. If the print quality hasn't improved after this you should check that it isn't caused by the paper stock you are using- poor quality and/ or unsuitable paper stock can cause smearing and ghosting.

that sounds like an alignment problem which you can correct under the maintenance tab. if your heads are not properly aligned, the dots dont print in the proper place but a little bit off to the side and you get that shadow. What the alignment does is printer numbers several different ways and ask you to choose the best set.
