What printers are compatible with Windows 7 64 Bit?

How can I make my Windows7 64-bit PCs print to a printer that is attached to a Windows Vista 32-bit PC?

  • Since we acquired new set of Dell & Toshiba laptops we've stop using cables(RJ-45) for our LAN. All new laptops run on Windows 7 64-bit. A couple of old laptops/desktops that run on Windows Vista 32-bit have printers attached to them but the new Windows 7 64-bit machines can't seem to print to them even after installing the appropriate drivers, most machines won't even allow you to add the printers. What am I doing wrong? Do I need to configure my new laptops in a certain way? Will be my NETGEAR KWGR614 router that needs to be replaced by an N-series router? Please i really need help in this cos its just driving me crazy. My colleagues cannot print and/or sometimes see themselves on the network and some can get a bit nasty. Your advice will be highly appreciated. Thanks a lot!

  • Answer:

The easiest way is to get a wireless printer. Windows Vista can be a pain sometimes to share files and printers. It is possible though, all you need to do is enable printer sharing.
