How to print to a laptop computer without a router?

How can i print from this computer when my other computer is got the printer?

  • so i have my desktop hooked up strait to the wireless router. the wireless router is hooked up to my modem and my laptop (this computer) is running wireless. how can i print from my laptop. i am running both computers on windows 7.

  • Answer:

On the machine to which the printer is connected, go to Control Panel > Network and Sharing Center > Change advanced sharing settings and verify that the option "Turn on file and printer sharing" is enabled. Then on the other machine, go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers > Add a printer > Add a network, wireless or Bluetooth printer and select the printer from the list and click next. Select the make and model from the lists, click next. Provide the name for the printer and click next. Check the "Set as the default printer" option and click finish. If the exact make and model are not in the lists, you need to download and install the drivers before continuing with the add printer wizard.
