Why isn't my printer hooking up?

I cant use my printer anymore, my pc suddenly isnt able to find printer drivers.?

  • I have HP Photosmart c5280 and I have been using it for some time now, but today it was not listed in my printer list. So I went to device manager to see if the drivers are up to date, however it didnt find any drivers for it anymore. So I downloaded new drivers from hp site, and clicked install. Surprisingly I wasnt able to, a window popped up saying that newer version of driver is already installed on your comp. So I went to program files, located c5280 folder and tried to uninstall the old drivers from there, so I clicked uninstall and it wrote "HPZSCR01.EXE is missing. Unable to uninstall". So now i dont know what to do cause I cant use the printer whatsoever. Please help.

    your antivirus has eaten the HPZSCR01.EXE . so u should uninstall the printer drivers . but u cannot uninstall also ... shutdown your pc .. ON ur pc --> press F8 ---> safemode --> start windows with safe mode -->control panel ---> addor remove ----> hp drivers ---> uninstall--> restart ur pc ----> start windows normally-->click run--> temp --> delete temp files --> close --->click-->run---> %temp%--> delete all--> then restart ur pc .. And put the hp cd in side and run .. while running the hp cd u should not connect the printer to pc ....

hi bjcev, ya know i can really comunicate with your problem i am in the same boat with a dell i have printer fax machine so i use dell websight and i have been downloading drivers from the when diskett got ate up in a cd dvd burner so the printer works good but fax i am not sure if they are being received but they have an answer for poor little souls such as we are and i know you are not going to like it but here goes anyway. upgrade! that's right i was looking at one that when i send a fax a stewardess steps out of the machine to ask me if i would like something to drink. now that is a upgrade it can print fax and develope pictures all at the same time. good luck hope i was helpful to you

uninstall the old drivers in add/remove software and re-install see if HP have newer drivers
