Help with HP computer and HP printer?

Please help my computer wont recognize my HP Deskjet F4435 as a printer, but it will as a scanner!?

  • I don't know how to fix this, I need to print somethings out but my computer doesn't recognize it as a printer, only as a scanner. And when I go to Start, Control Panel, Printers and Other Hardware,then to Add a Printer it says "Operation could not be completed. The print spooler service is not running." Please help and give descriptive step by step instructions on how to fix the problem, thanks!

Make sure you have installed the software given with the printer.

It is a problem with the print spooler. Open the run command on your computer and type: services.msc You will see a list of services, search the list until you find the print spooler. Right-click on it and set it to start. Also set it so it starts automatically. Reboot you pc and check services.msc again to make sure your print spooler started. This is where you find it for future use. Once you have the print spooler started go to your control panel and printers folder. Locate your printer. If it is there that is the driver for your printer. Right-click on it and go to properties. Click on the general tab at the to. In the bottom right corner you will see a tab for print test page. Go ahead and test it. If your printer is not in the printers folder you will need to reinstall the driver, but fix the print spooler first. Good-luck.
