Why I cannot print pdf files on my printer?

  • I am not able to print any .pdf file on my printer. It prints all other formats except .pdf. Whenever I try to print i get this message " Before you can perform print related tasks you need to install a printer" I tried re-installing the printer, but in vain.

    you are badly confused A PDF printer is a virtual printer that allows you to create a PDF version of a document. you Install any free PDF printer like CutePDF. then when you choose PDF print, say from WORD then your WORD document will be Printed to CutePDF(virtually printed) to CREATE a PDF file, NOT a printout. if you want to PRINT a PDF file. Open the PDF file using ADOBE reader then PRINT it to your PRINTER

If you're trying to print a document that's already a .pdf, then the first answerer may be correct, and the document was locked for printing by the creator to prevent people from printing. I don't know what else could cause that. If you're trying to save, say a Publisher document for example, as a .pdf file, then you will use the feature in that app. I have Microsoft Office 2007 and when I use Publisher and save a document as a .pdf file, I go to File - Publish as PDF or XPS... - PDF (where it says Save As) - Publish. Then your new .pdf document will open for you to view. Of course, I have no idea what software you're using, so that's just my example. Either I'm not understanding your question, or we need more details. Have a good day!
