Lexmark ink questions.

Lexmark 5000 vs Canon MP250, same black ink?

  • I used to own a Lexmark 5000 printer and finally upgraded to a Canon MP250 scanner/printer when the Lexmark wouldn't work anymore, not sure if it was the upgrade to Windows XP or if its the laptops printer port that's not working. I have two cases of ink for the Lexmark, both black and color. Is it possible to use the Lexmark ink for the Canon cartridges. I would think the black would be the same no matter what...the color ink may be another story. I take it you use the same procedure for the refill. Drill a small hole in the top and fill with a syringe. I don't use the color cartridge at all so I doubt I would have to refill it anytime soon. Thanks,
