Why is my printer only printing in black and blue?

Why is my printer not printing black ink even though I have full black ink?

  • I have full black ink, and yellow ink. I don't have anymore ink for magenta and cyan. I'm trying to print a black and white picture but it's not printing because I don't have magenta and cyan. Why is it not printing? I have black ink!! Btw, my printer is Epson Stylus T13. Please answer immediately.

    did you check the printing details before you tried, they have an option in there before printing to print 'grayscale' in whatever program you are trying to print from, so instead of print, go to print preview, and click around on the printing options and choose grayscale, Most printers won't print without colour right off the start, but to do black and white, you need to change your printers settings

With most printers you are required to have ink in both the black and color ink cartridges in order to print in black as they work in conjunction with each other. So you will need to have the both color and black ink cartridges with ink, the same thing applies for color. In the printer driver, there is an option for "gray scale" printing. That should use only the black cartridge , but you also will need a usable color cartridge installed for this option for that as some color is used.

Check your printer if there's a blinking led light, this error means you need to complete all the cartridges to be able to print.
