How to fix HP C4200 Printer driver?

Whenever I restart my computer it starts trying to install the driver for my HPC4200 Photosmart printer, but it cannot find the file C4200.msi. It says it is on a network that is not available. I have searched for it on my computer, but it is just not there. I know it is part of Windows 7. It won't let me reinstall from the disk because it says the software is already part of Windows 7. But it does not work right. The odd thing is that it eventually does work. When I scan something it comes up with an error message about not being able to find a component of the software a couple of times and when I turn off this message a few times it goes ahead and scans. This is very annoying however. When I try to find a solution on the Internet I keep getting directed to various driver detective and registry scams. I don't want that. I either want to make this printer work properly or else get the darn software off my computer so it stops trying to install if over and over. This happens even when the printer is not connected to the computer. I will just get a different printer if I cannot make this one work properly. .

It sounds like the driver installation wasn't completed or has become corrupted. You need to reinstall the driver. It is not on the Windows disc, it would be a separate CD that came with the printer, or you can d/l it from HP's website (this is preferable).
