Why doesn't a computer recognise a printer?

I just bought a printer that doesnt have a computer usb connection?

  • i bought an officejet j4540 printer all in one and i followed all instructions on it but it tells me to install the cd and it wont bring anything up on the computer and there is no connection to the computer??? it says its not wireless????

they never have a usb cord, it is a trick, now you have to go back to the store and pay $20 for a cord. yep, that's how printers are.

Some printer dont include the USB cord with it. You have to go to your local computer store and just buy one problem solve

This printer has to be connected by usb. In a lot of cases a usb cable is not included with the printer now and has to be purchased. The usb connector if not on the outside of printer is put inside a cover that can easily opened.Refer to the instruction manual that should come with the printer.

Look more closely..it HAS a usb slot. Just buy the cord, some places are cheaper then others so shop around.
