How to connect mac laptop to hp printer?

  • hey i just bought a mac book pro and i have a printer that has wireless options the printer is already connected to my PC but i want to connect it to my mac through wireless.i went on bluetooth options and searched but my printer wouldn't pop up as a device found. the printer i have is a hp deskjet 3050.please help

    This is a fairly new printer in the retail market (ie: BestBuy) First off do you have a wirelesss network in your home (meaning can you take this laptop anywhere in your home and still be on the internet) if yes, Is the printer connected to Wireless Network in your home? Settings>Network>Wireless Network Setup> (find your network, type in password if needed voila) If you are wanting to scan wirelessly you WILL need to install the HP software that came with the printer. I don't care what the Apple Rep told you at the store, yes you can plug it in and it'll print automatically, but as far as the HP Scan Softwre that needs to be installed. On Macbook you will need to go to Apple>System Preferences> Printer>Click on the plus sign at the bottom of the white window. Add Printer Do system update. Voila!
