Printers - I need a monochrome laser printer with the following features?

Used HP 2100 1200 DPI I have two. I just saw a used one for $10!!!

I do not know what you mean by 5000 pages per month. If you are talking about printing 5000 pages per month on one cartridge, then I don't know if that will work. It depends on the work you are doing.

You are never going to find a refillable toner cartirdge. They have far too many mechanical componants to simply drill and fill. THe best you can do is look for a printer where you can easily obtain third party or compatible toner cartridges. For that duty cycle (5K/mo) I would look at the business class HP printers. A consumer level printer (the ones you can buy at staples) are not going to be able to handle that output.

never refill a laser toner. 1) it's messy 2) it's dangerous. the toner is cancerous. 3) it often fails. Get a brother laser printer. They really hold up. I bought an hl-2040 about 8 years ago. It's still going strong and all it ever needed was toner. I havent even swapped out the drum. Toner cartridges for most Brother printers are in the $30 range. I get mine at www.ccs-digital.com
